BODY-Q - Satisfaction with Chest

Clinical intent

The BODY-Q is a patient-reported outcome measure (PROM) developed using Rasch Measurement Theory (RMT) to evaluate outcomes in bariatric and body contouring surgery. The Satisfaction with Chest scale is part of the BODY-Q Chest Module. It asks patients to rate their satisfaction with various aspects of their chest area over the past week using a 4-point response scale (1 = Very Dissatisfied to 4 = Very Satisfied). If the patient's chest differs from one side to the other, they are instructed to answer based on the side they are least satisfied with.

Calculation

Higher scores reflect a better outcome. The scar item (Q11) is not included in the scoring. If missing data is less than 50% of the 10 scored items, the mean of the completed items is inserted for missing values. The raw summed score is then converted to a Rasch-transformed score from 0 (worst) to 100 (best) using the conversion table below.
